Some exciting things happening for FireSpring Fund, a nonprofit investment fund and the first of its kind in Central Florida. The FireSpring Seed Accelerator announced today, that five tech startups will be joining its mentorship program. The companies selected have each demonstrated a reliable product, interested customers and potential to take their growth to the next level.
Each company will receive an initial investment of $25,000. Throughout the accelerator the companies will be given opportunities for an additional $200,000 in staged investments as they meet strict milestones and secure funding from outside investors.
The following five companies have been chosen for the first round:
Edu(k)ate – A financial tech startup that offers financial programs that help guide people to money saving solutions, allowing the workforce to go from financially stressed to financially savvy.
Fyre – A smart software tool that help accelerate talent acquisition for the recruiting industry.
NightHawk Running, LLC – A safety/fitness product that lights the way to run, walk, bike and hike from dusk until dawn, utilizing Bluetooth technology for performance improvement.
School Flow – A mobile app that helps college students stay organized by importing their entire semester. The app allows you to set reminders about assignment due dates and exams.
SQYGL – A helpful platform that changes they way you travel by planning trips the way humans do, not the way a search engine does it.
The 6-month program begins July 5th.
