OrlandoiX is only two weeks away, and as kickoff edges closer, IX-founder David Glass is getting ready. “I’m excited,” Glass said, “it’s been a long time coming. As the worldwide leader in modeling, simulation and training, and one of the premiere centers for entertainment technology, OrlandoiX is about showcasing our city’s burgeoning tech industry.”
The 5-day technology, digital creativity, and gaming festival that the I-4 Business Journal compared to SXSW, will begin on Friday, October 2nd. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. with an opening party at the Wall Street Plaza in downtown Orlando, presented by IZEA. The opening party is a public event.
The next four days will be filled with a variety of talks from speakers such as Michelle McKenna-Doyle, Chief Innovation Officer of the NFL, Kimberly Gnatt, Global Director of Marketing for the Coca Cola Company, and local-leaders such as Ted Murphy, CEO of IZEA.
The OrlandoiX Startup Summit is slated for Saturday and Sunday, from 10-4 p.m. and will be held in the Orange County Convention Center. The summit will feature keynote speakers as well as a startup pitch and panel, where startups will demo their products in hopes of landing investment.
The gaming aspect of OrlandoiX will take place on Saturday and Sunday, with both game expos and tournaments. The 50,000-square foot space will be teaming with gamers, developers, and artists looking to show off the latest, and greatest, in gaming.
The Digital Expo will close out the five day festival on Monday and Tuesday, with a “showcase of featured keynotes, trend and growth strategy discussions, and networking opportunities.”
Attendees can buy passes separately for the gaming, startup and digital summits, or an all-inclusive 5-day pass. Two-day passes are also available. The OrlandoiX Battle of the Geek Bands on Saturday, October 3rd, is free to the public.
